How this estimate works

Cost per use = (purchase or subscription cost + additional costs) ÷ expected uses.

Use the same ownership or subscription period for costs and uses. Assumes every expected use occurs. Excludes financing, resale value, and costs you do not enter. A low cost per use alone does not establish affordability.

BEFORE YOU BEGIN

## Bring the right numbers.

Estimates are enough to explore. Keep every money amount in the same
        selected currency.

- 01

The price or subscription charge for the period.

- 02

Upkeep and additional costs for that same period.

- 03

A realistic count of uses within that period.

MAKE THE RESULT USEFUL

## What to look for.

Choose a realistic number of uses before comparing options. Include upkeep or additional fees over the same period. Compare a lower-use scenario too; the estimate depends as much on actual use as it does on price.

Your calculator inputs are not included in your inquiry.

WORKED EXAMPLE · USD

### Estimated cost per use: $5.00

Purchase price or subscription cost $240.00 Additional costs over the same period $60.00 Expected number of uses 60 uses

$300.00 in total costs across 60 expected uses. Use the same period for both.

The example matches the starting inputs. It is an illustration, not a
        recommendation.

TRY ANOTHER SCENARIO

##
Change one thing.
  Notice the difference.

Halve the expected uses while leaving costs unchanged. The cost per use doubles, which shows why an optimistic usage estimate can make a purchase look more attractive.

A FEW THINGS YOU MAY BE WONDERING

##
Good questions.
  Clear answers.

What happens if I enter no uses?

There is no meaningful cost-per-use estimate with zero uses. The calculator asks for at least one use instead of showing an infinite amount.

Can I compare a subscription with buying something?

Yes, as a simple cost comparison if both options use the same time period and realistic usage count. Include relevant ongoing costs; this tool does not value convenience, quality, or resale proceeds.
