EXPLORE YOUR NUMBERS
Monthly budget
See what’s left after your monthly commitments.
How this estimate works
Take-home income − housing − living costs − debt payments − other allocations.
Use one month for every amount. Include irregular bills as monthly equivalents. Money remaining is unallocated—not automatically saved.
BEFORE YOU BEGIN
Bring the right numbers.
Estimates are enough to explore. Keep every money amount in the same
selected currency.
01
Monthly take-home income after deductions.
02
A monthly share of annual or irregular bills.
03
Spending, debt payments, and savings you already plan for.
MAKE THE RESULT USEFUL
What to look for.
Start with a typical month, including irregular bills divided across the year. A positive result is money still to assign; a shortfall means the listed commitments exceed take-home income. Try changing one category before changing several.
Changing inputs here does not send them to Matt or save them between
visits.
A FEW THINGS YOU MAY BE WONDERING
Good questions.
Clear answers.
Does money left over count as savings?
Not automatically. The result is income you have not assigned to the categories entered. You can decide whether to direct it to savings, another expense, or a different priority.
How do I include a yearly bill?
Divide the yearly amount by 12 and include that monthly equivalent in a relevant category. Use the same one-month period for every input.
