Savings goal
Estimate how many monthly contributions reach your goal.
How this estimate works
Months = remaining goal ÷ monthly contribution, rounded up to a whole month.
Assumes a constant contribution each month, no withdrawals, and no interest. The last contribution may be smaller. This is a timeline estimate, not a calendar promise.
BEFORE YOU BEGIN
Bring the right numbers.
Estimates are enough to explore. Keep every money amount in the same
selected currency.
01
A target amount for one specific goal.
02
Savings already allocated to that goal.
03
A monthly contribution you want to model.
MAKE THE RESULT USEFUL
What to look for.
Choose one goal and count only savings assigned to it. Compare a contribution you can sustain with a higher or lower amount. This estimate counts full monthly contributions and does not assume interest.
Your calculator inputs are not included in your inquiry.
TRY ANOTHER SCENARIO
Change one thing.
Notice the difference.
Try a different monthly contribution and compare the number of months. The estimate rounds up to a complete month, so a small change may not shorten the displayed timeline.
Changing inputs here does not send them to Matt or save them between
visits.
A FEW THINGS YOU MAY BE WONDERING
Good questions.
Clear answers.
Does this include interest?
No. This tool models contributions only. Use the compound growth calculator if you want to explore an assumed constant growth rate, and review its additional limitations.
Why is there no timeline when I enter zero?
If there is still a gap and no monthly contribution, this model cannot reach the goal. If your saved amount already covers the goal, no more contributions are needed.
