How this estimate works
Annual cost = monthly subscriptions × 12 + annual memberships. Period total = annual cost × years.
Assumes prices stay unchanged and every subscription renews. Excludes inflation, promotional changes, cancellation fees, and investment returns. Do not count the same subscription in both fields.
BEFORE YOU BEGIN
Bring the right numbers.
Estimates are enough to explore. Keep every money amount in the same
selected currency.
01
The total of your monthly recurring charges.
02
Separately, the total of charges billed once a year.
03
The number of complete years you want to compare.
MAKE THE RESULT USEFUL
What to look for.
Add up monthly and yearly charges separately. Review how much you use each service before deciding what to change. The total is spending under a constant-price scenario, not automatically available savings.
Your calculator inputs are not included in your inquiry.
TRY ANOTHER SCENARIO
Change one thing.
Notice the difference.
Remove one unused monthly subscription from the combined monthly amount. Compare the period total before and after, keeping the time horizon unchanged.
Changing inputs here does not send them to Matt or save them between
visits.
A FEW THINGS YOU MAY BE WONDERING
Good questions.
Clear answers.
Should I convert annual subscriptions to monthly amounts first?
No. Put monthly charges in the monthly field and yearly charges in the annual field. The calculator combines them, so entering the same charge in both fields would double count it.
Does the result assume prices rise?
No. Prices and subscriptions stay unchanged throughout the selected period. Use the inflation tool separately to explore a hypothetical rising cost.
